Nutting Engineers of Florida, Inc. is one of South Florida’s most established geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and structural inspection firms. With origins dating back to H.C. Nutting in Miami in 1932, the company evolved into Nutting Engineers, Inc. in 1956 and later became Nutting Engineers of Florida, Inc. in 1967.
For more than nine decades, Nutting Engineers has supported the region’s growth with technical excellence, reliability, and deep expertise in complex ground and structural systems.

HISTORY
History of Nutting Engineers of Florida, Inc.
Founded in Cincinnati, Ohio by Harry C. Nutting
Opened an office in Miami, Florida
H.C. Nutting became Nutting Engineers, Inc., no longer affiliated with the founding Company.
Nutting Engineers, Inc. became Nutting Engineers of Florida, Inc., operating out of Pompano Beach, Florida.
The company build a new facility in Boynton Beach, Florida and moved all operations to the new location.

The People Behind Nutting Engineers
Richard Iossi, PE, Principal/President
Rick Iossi is a principal, and the President of Nutting Engineers of Florida, Inc. and Nutting Environmental of Florida, Inc. in 2001 and handles all of Nutting Environmental of Florida, Inc. Mr. Iossi’s forty years of experience includes engineering, consulting and management for environmental, geotechnical, geologic and hydrogeological studies, construction inspection, materials testing, and special projects. He holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in Electrical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, and Biological Science. Mr. Iossi is a State of Florida registered Professional Engineer.
Richard Wohlfarth, PE, BN, Principal/Vice-President
Rick Wohlfarth is a Principal, Vice-President of Nutting Engineers of Florida, Inc. and Nutting Environmental of Florida, Inc. He also serves as the Director of Engineering. With nearly thirty-five years at Nutting Engineers of Florida, Inc., he became one of the principals in 2001. He is experienced in various aspects of geotechnical engineering
Elizabeth Butler, Principal/Corporate Secretary/Treasurer
Betsy Butler serves as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Corporation(s) is. With 37 years at Nutting Engineers of Florida, Inc., she became one of the four Principals in 2001. She is also the Director of Human Resources and Administration.
